READING ENTANGLED ENVIRONMENTS

FICA DELHI
India

Every photograph of nature is a fiction. The lens draws a boundary — inside the frame, "Nature"; outside, us — and centuries of that framing have taught us to admire the ecological world from behind glass. During a 2026 residency at FICA, New Delhi, I photographed the ancient fig trees whose roots spill across walls and markets, structural to the city rather than decorative. Then I pierced these images with pins, scissors and matches — domestic objects that rupture the frame.
