Caroline is a graduate of the Faber Academy at Allen & Unwin.

Her current project is Shadowtime, a literary novel about a mother and daughter whose trip to the Australian desert, meant to close the distance between them, ends when a vast dust storm sweeps in and the mother disappears. Left to face the search and the long wait that follows, the daughter must ask whether she has ever truly been paying attention to her mother, or to the unsettled world they were moving through.

Written in the restrained register of Jessica Au's Cold Enough for Snow, with the unsettling female interiority of Deborah Levy's Hot Milk, Shadowtime explores grief, memory and what remains when everything familiar dissolves into the horizon.

The novel is coming soon and is available for option.
